The text calls the attention to the necessity of rethinking the Cartesian-Newtonian model, that comes historically endorsing the curricular conception and practice in the presence of the new meaning of education and knowledge nowadays. It approaches three conceptual points of view, taking them as basis for a critical reflection concerning the curriculum of the Biology courses. In this case, it emphasizes the importance of a contemporary conception that puts together, beside the scientific dimension, a sociocultural and ethical curricular perspective, through an interdisciplinary approach.
