Abstract

This paper aims to analyze some of the aesthetic postulates of modern cinema, taking as its object Ingmar Bergman’s Persona, especially regarding the narrative structure the film builds. Therefore, it is intended to analyze in Persona certain features of a cinema that “thinks through images” instead of “narrating through images”. It is a work of art that reflects on its own production conditions, breaking with the illusionist transparency of the so-called “classic cinema”
