Descrição comportamental de Cariama cristata (Linnaeus, 1766) (Gruiformes: Cariamidae) em cativeiro no Parque Zoobotânico Getúlio Vargas em Salvador, Bahia

The objective of this work was to describe and analyze the frequency of behaviors of the Seriema in captivity in the Getulio Vargas Zoobotanical Park in Salvador, Bahia. Two observations were performed twice a week for three weeks, from 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m., and was performed the focal animal method. Were observed and described nine behavioral categories and 46 subcategories. The individual with washer presented a higher repertoire number (n=2654) compared to the individual without washer (n=2602). The behaviors related to Movement (27.63%) and Rest (29.32%) were more frequent on the day with high flow of visitors. And the afternoon showed a higher frequency of behavior related to Movement (26.03%), Rest (29.25%) and Investigative (30.06%). In view of this, it was possible to note that the period of greatest stress for both specimens is in the afternoon shift and on days with large circulations of people.
