The variety of sexual orientations (VSO) arouses much interest in the scientific community and society. Discussions on this topic are marked to gain in genetics its theoretical support. Despite its importance, the discussion is also involved by epigenetic factors and the influence of environment about approach in the subject. This study was conducted in order to examine the perceptions of epigenetic factors in the causation of VSO and the influence of environmental determinism in the teachers’ conception. From the analysis of questionnaires answered by twenty high school teachers, we found that in many cases the vision that hormones influence in homosexuality is dominant in the conception of these teachers.
