Empreendimentos imobiliários em remanescentes de Mata Atlântica na região da Paralela, Salvador - BA

This study aims to contribute to the conservation and preservation of green areas located in a great urban centre. Photographic data done in area study were compared with a ‘Model of Usage and Occupation of the Land’ of the adjacent areas to Paralela Avenue made by SEPLAM (City Secretary for Planning, Urbanism and Environment) in 1995. The analyses have shown that the intense anthropic actions have impacted Salvador’s greatest natural green area. The results obtained do not match the original plans for the conservation and preservation of the Atlantic Rain Forest surround the Paralela Avenue proposed by SEPLAM. Therefore urban planning in the region was not implemented.
