Abstract

This research aimed to profile selective garbage collection in the community of Canabrava (CAEC –Canabrava Ecological Collectors (Agents) Cooperative)). It’s well known the population in these poor neighborhoods have a low quality of life, It is limited to living with the basics necessities to survive , most of their food is obtained from garbage leftovers. To prevent garbage accumulation one alternative is selective collection, basically consisting in separating materials that have been thrown way, This became the best partner for recycling programs. The recycling activities include, handmade and industrials products, central screening processors and compost plants. All these things could strengthen important links with educational programs for all ages.
