THE PRESENCE OF LONELINESS OR IN COMPANY IN THE STORIES OF CLARICE LISPECTOR AND MARIA JUDITE DE CARVALHO

The present study aims to analyze the theme of loneliness in the lives of the female characters of the writers Clarice Lispector and Maria Judite de Carvalho, observing how they lead the destiny of each one of them. It is true that the conceptions-of-the-world between the writers present remarkable affinities, in an existentialist theory perspective. From this point of view, the analysis of the stories sought to raise and question the loneliness related to the existence and condition of women in a society of men. For that, we also tried to analyze, in the short stories, the historical and cultural crossings, of Brazilian and Portuguese society, in which the mentioned writers worked.
