This article shows the importance of philosophy in Fernando Pessoa's writing. Indeed, in addition to the literary and fictional creations of the Portuguese poet and thinker, we find in Pessoa's Archive a multiplicity of philosophical writings, which are attributed to different selves of Pessoa which are still little publicized, such as Charles Robert Anon, Horace James Faber, Alexander Search, A. Moreira, Faustino Antunes, Frederick Wyatt, António Mora and Raphael Baldaya, in addition to texts by Ricardo Reis, Álvaro de Campos and Fernando Pessoa in his own name. Based on this evidence, this article elucidates the connection between Pessoa's philosophical writings and the creation of his multiple personalities from pre-heteronyms to the heteronymic period.
