Abstract

Ernst Bloch outline regarding man's utopian drive in the face of the principle of hope. Hope that comes to fruition from a historical subject aware of his ability to transform material reality. The Hope principle is a state in which the desire for a better life becomes guided through activity, especially through the materialization of this feeling in struggle. This is a characteristic present among post-impressionists, under the umbrella of nonconformity. The post-impressionists sought to show everyone included in the state of things using clearer strokes, in order to give more precise contours to the hope of overcoming the intimate material areas that imprisoned man. This article proposes to emphasize Bloch's discussion around post-impressionist painting, problematizing utopia and the enigmatic, characteristic of this modern current, as the becoming of representations of escape from the determinations of capital.
