Resumo

A composição e atividade da microbiota relacionam-se com os processos biológicos que constituem a saúde e a doença humana. Pesquisas recentes sugerem que a microbiota intestinal pode ser afetada por diversas condições. Desse modo, a proposta deste trabalho consiste em avaliar a associação entre o padrão alimentar ocidentalizado e alterações na microbiota intestinal, a partir de revisão narrativa embasada numa amostra de 11 artigos, encontrados em bases de dados. Resultados: Após análise de experimentos em humanos foi comprovado que a diversidade da microbiota intestinal é significativamente afetada pelos hábitos alimentares ocidentais. Conclusão: O consumo de dieta ocidentalizada é um dos principais fatores associados ao mecanismo de desequilíbrio da microbiota (disbiose).
