Dyslexia is a disorder of neurobiological origin, characterized by difficulty recognizing and decoding words fluently. Mismatch Negativity is an endogenous long-latency cortical potential elicited by any change in a standard stimulus, independently of the participant's attention, which can be used as a complementary tool in the diagnosis of dyslexia. The objective of this study was to analyze, in the current scientific literature, proving the use of auditory Mismatch Negivity in the diagnostic approach of developmental dyslexia. This is an integrative literature review that was conducted to identify accuracy indicators of auditory Mismatch Negativity in individuals in the typical (from 02 to 19 years of age) and atypical neurodevelopment process, specifically related to learning problems related to reading . Lilacs, Scielo, Medline and Pubmed databases were used, including original articles in Portuguese, Spanish and/or English and published between 2009 and 2019. Studies that did not mention auditory Mismatch Negativity in the methodology were excluded, as well as studies with others could or in those where only visual Mismatch Negivity was evaluated. Studies tolerate the high sensitivity of auditory Mismatch Negivity in the diagnostic evaluation of developmental dyslexia, but its specificity varies mainly as a function of technical criteria for recording emitted signals, being more specific when using more complex capture systems. This study highlights the use of this tool as a diagnostic measurement and that it can be useful in the evaluation of developmental dyslexia. However, more research is needed to raise the level of evidence for the clinical use of auditory Mismatch Negivity in the individual approach.
